Shane Doyle(CEO)

has over thirty years experience in the industry which has encompassed CEO roles on carrier, managing general agency (MGA) and brokering platforms. Shane led and managed teams in offices across 40 countries on five continents. These included leading a significant London AIG division through the 2008 crises whilst maintaining +85% policy and staff retention rates; Country Head & CEO—Zurich Australia and NZ a business that had over a $1bn in premium and 1,000 staff; Global CEO—DUAL making it the largest global MGA by diversifying both lines of business and geographic footprints and CEO—Beach Specialty & Global Markets.
He understands that ultimately any leader is judged on prudent management of their P&L and meeting or exceeding ROE expectations from investors.

J. Shorey(General Counsel)

brings his extensive experience in regulatory and compliance law to the team. For over 30 years J. has been involved in structuring deals, from conception to launch. With a background in both science engineering and law, these projects often involved complex commercial redevelopment projects in the urban environment, identifying key obstacles and devising innovative solutions to assist the client in getting the job done. J. is a graduate of Kenyon College, and received his law degree from Suffolk University in Boston. He also studied Environmental Law and Public Policy at M.I.T.

Peter Bern(President)

With over twenty years as a Broker/Consultant in the Property & Casualty arena, Peter brings a deep understanding of the world of insurance to the team. With his broad experience handling a wide range of risk management issues, Peter has built a successful career serving his clients’ needs. Emphasizing a collaborative approach to meeting his customers’ needs, he has developed an extensive and loyal client base in a variety of industries.
In January of 2010, Peter became the CEO of The G.F. Hoch Company and renamed it the Leverity Insurance Group. Seven years later, Peter and his team have grown the company by over 100% in gross revenues. In April of 2018 this remarkable performance resulted in Leverity being acquired by Acrisure, one of the largest privately held insurance networks in the world. Peter graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in finance.

Brad Hunt(COO)

brings more than 20 years of experience managing insurance systems to track and model all aspects of risk identification and claims management. Using data analytics to identify emerging risk trends, fully characterizing the real risks, Brad develops solutions to remedy those risks. Much of Brad’s work has focused on workmen’s comp and healthcare, saving clients millions by implementing more effective risk control methods. Brad received his undergraduate from Bucknell and his MBA from Baldwin-Wallace.

Curt Witchey(CFO)

brings skills pertaining to structured financing and internal capital allocation which enable us to function in a positive and constructive manner. He has served in financial leadership roles with both established and startup companies, and in evaluating private equity over his 30+ year career. Curt holds an MBA from Case Weatherhead School of Management.

Doug Vahey(CUO)

brings a long history of key A+ rated Carrier Underwriting and Product technical and leadership experience to the team: D&O, EPL, Various Professional Liability, Cyber (Theft and E&O), Employee Theft, and Kidnap and Ransom. He received national recognition at Chubb for achieving the best growth, profit, and revenue/employee. Doug has successfully balanced product development and underwriting guidelines with an aggressive go-to-market strategy. He is also active in the startup space. Doug received his BA from Kenyon College and an MBA from Questrom School at Boston University.

Sharon Herene(DOC)

received her Master of Nonprofit Organizations from Case Western Reserve University and spent over 20 years in Financial Development at the American Red Cross and PBS/NPR in Cleveland. She also created and oversaw messaging and e-marketing for her areas. She is equally adept at engaging people and driving computer programs as well as the interpretation required to have both work well together.
